Type SLT-01C/D Marine Growth Preventing System consists of control box, electrobath/sea chest, connection cable and anti-corrosion & antifouling electrodes. The material of copper, aluminum and iron can be selected to be made as electrode. Copper anode to be electrolyzed in sea water to produce a suitable ions of copper, which flows the sea water line system, restrains marine growth from blockage effectively. The deposit of aluminum hydroxide or ferric hydroxide will be cling on the wall of pipe to form a very thin protective layer, which one prevents marine growth occurred and pipe being corrosion in the period of function.

The quantity of anodes installed on the equipment and proportion of raw material are varied according to different protective object. Anodes are generally installed at the inlet of sea water pipeline system. This kind of anode had better be installed selectively on sea chest of the protected system, filter, or in other pipeline system where the anodes are convenient to install and dismantle directly because the anti-corrosion protective anode is purely a consumable part.

The life of anode relates to many factors including seawater processing capacity, ship size and dock interval etc. These factors directly affect the size & weight of the anode to be used and the type of electrolytic current. It is necessary to replace the anodes termly. Generally speaking, anodes shold better be renewed during dock.

Type SLT – 01C Marine Growth Preventing System can self-adjust via the control box that is designed with monitor and anode control parts inside. This device is also designed with parts of alarming anode exhaustion and broken line, which are connected directly with central alarm system of the ship.

The Control box embed with the inside and outside two cases. The inside case is adopted the IEC60297 frame construction and the line out from back board. LED display, the feature of flexible to assemble and convenient maintenance; the instruction of the outside case has the feature of dustproof, waterproof ,convenient installation and observation. The circuit board of control box is designed with plate instruction. Every adjustment module corresponds to a pair of electrodes. Every case could be equipped with 4 current modules at the same time. One voltage module may test any electrode in the 4 electric current modules , showing the status of the 4 flowmeters at the same time.

Electrobath is the seawater bath providing place to install and electrolyze electrodes so as to bring out a little quantity of copper ion and hydroxid.

Electrobath is made of corrosion-proof material that should be with good seal performance (≥400KPa) and also able to deal with big quantity of seawater to fulfill anti-blockage and anti-corrosion functions.

This unit and current-adjusting potentiometer are installed on one adjustment module. When open circuit happens to electrode, the alarm lamp lights and the normally-closed triggering point of alarm relay acts to connect terminals of connection poles 13 and 14 in order to connect the alarm unit of the ship after parallel connection with triggering points of other modules.

Type SLT – 01D Marine Growth Preventing System is provided with function of monitoring and output controlling. If any fault occur during the operation with output loop, as the anode exhaustion or broken, an alarm signal being outputted. The signal could be connected to the central alarm system.
